We finally see a hint of Thomas' creativity and emotional depth. This track may grow on me after relistens but I'm very negative about it now.Įyes Wider: Favorite part of almost everyone. Good but nothing spectacular.īig Life: Unlistenable, period. The track is very calm, which is understandable because it's the beginning. Thomas' songs often blow you up with various emotions, ranging from war epicness to love miracles, but it's nowhere to be found in Sevenĭeliverence: The starting is very cool.
Most of the time only 1-2 instruments play simultaneously and there aren't many highlight moments like " The cello at 3:45 OMG !" I was wishing a more complex and deeper composition. Instrumental performance: It's not bad but just meh.
I don't know if he used samples or a real choir performed for this piece, but choirs so are so loud and meaningless. Thomas is known for his super epic choirs but I didn't like the choir usage this time. This piece could be much better with more vocals, now it feels like a a pizza without tomato sauce. Thomas used so less female voices, which is the thing makes his pieces very good. I think this shouldn't be the route for his " the most majestic work". American Dream was much more intense in comparision.

Most of the piece is dull and silent, like a movie soundtrack. Most of the individual parts are lackluster as well as the whole composition. Thomas frequently called Seven his best work ever but I think it is miles away from his previous symphonic work American Dream, his solo albums (considered by his best works by many) and even most of the TSFH albums. But after listening to the whole piece I am extremely disappointed. I even loaned two high end audio systems to listen to this at the highest quality. I am a huge TSFH fan, I was so hyped for Seven like all of you.
